Sharon Feldstein Works

Sharon Feldstein

As an intuitive abstract painter, my style embodies an organic, expressive feel that allows viewers to establish a compelling personal connection. Using rich combinations of color and texture, surrealism and reality, and geometric and organic forms, I narrate stories while creating several points of visual interest within each story. My use of mixed media adds texture, infusing my paintings with energy and depth. This multi-dimensional appeal makes my work emotionally poignant. I take a skillful and thoughtful approach to balance and color, and am committed to pushing the boundaries of my creativity while experimenting with techniques that give me a unique artistic voice.

Some Background:

Now a self-taught artist living in Atlanta, I grew up in the urban wonders of New York City. Despite my innate inclination toward art and everything craft-related, I chose to study business, receiving an MBA degree and then carving a niche for myself as a freelance small business and non-profit design consultant and graphic designer.

Ten years into my freelance career, and four children later, I launched the Storysquares© handmade wall-decor product line and parlayed that into a new position of internationally licensed artist. It was at that point I decided to try combining my illustration skills with my love for abstract painting.

Drawing inspiration from the whole abstract expressionist movement (I love Rothko, Krasner, Frankenthaler, Twombly, etc!), I know painting to be an emotional act that requires the artist to dive deep into their feelings. My unique visual narrative extends from a foundation of bold color that is then given life through subtler layers and countless marks until a story begins to evolve. I pride myself on the storytelling that each piece embodies, forming a profound connection with viewers, which is truly the unique aspect of my art.

My association extends beyond my work and involves  membership with the Alpharetta Arts Guild and the American Guild of Judaic Art. My Judaic art collections have been well-received at solo shows in Atlanta and have been published in several academic journals and magazines. My paintings can be found in Collections in the U.S. and Europe.

Beyond my moniker as an artist, I devote my leisure time to traveling around Europe, hiking the mountains of Georgia and exploring the captivating deserts and forests of Arizona. I enjoy traveling, immersing myself in different cultures and bringing those sights, sounds, and tastes back to my art studio and onto my canvases.
